Corny but true

So, we interrupt this regularly scheduled nothingness to recollect a sweet story. I went crazy this past weekend and bought four pairs of shoes and then last night five more pairs. The four was from the Outlet mall near here, the five were online. I had to get them in different sizes cause I couldn't try them on. Most of those will go back.

Anyway, I have had the same three pairs of shoes for a while and that's really my limit. We have an over the door shoe rack that holds my shoes. If it doesn't fit there, then that's usually it.

But I was running late this morning and so was Nick. I had left one of the new pairs by the stairs and since Blaze has developed a recent penchant for taking my slipper with him all over the house, Nick in his being-late-for-work rush, picked up my new shoes and put it in the one remaining slot in the shoe rack.

It's the small things sometimes with him which is why I stopped in my being-late-for-work rush, looked at the shoe rush and realized for the umpteenth time why I'm in love with him.

Asking him to pick up his socks around the house tho, frequently turns into WWIII. But, we'll work on that.

Celebrating Independence

For the July 4th weekend, a couple friends and us went camping in Rimrock Lake. This lake we found by accident, well the lake was hard to miss, but the campground we found by accident. We went there three times last year and this is the first time this year. It was windy where we were at because the site was up on a bluff, but everyone had tons of fun nonetheless.

The rest of the pics are on my Flickr.

Economic Nightmares

I woke up this morning at 4:40am in a cold sweat because of my job; today's economic news just made it all the worse. I can safely say that today was a hellish day. Today's stock market close and subsequent fall out of the bond market kept me at my desk from 7:50 am until about noon. Literally. I don't think I got up for more than two minutes and that was to run to the restroom.

The other news that shook me up was the whole incidence with IndyMac. They were an Investor that we did a huge amount of business with last year but this year took a huge dive. That company was also the reason that I gave my notice at my current company back in February. See, Indy had an issue with keeping their promises and because of a series of unfortunate events, made the company that I work for lose tens of thousands of dollars. Events that began at my end.

Anyway, a few years ago, I interviewed for a job there and while I really really wanted it, am I glad that I'm not one of those people now looking for ways to pay their bills. I really do feel sorry for those that lost their jobs but this economy that we're in sucks major monkey balls. So much so that now I'm sitting here drinking some Gentleman Jack and coke while petting el perro.

Dieting

So, since I'm determined not to be a fat bride, I've been restraining myself from eating stuff that makes me happy. This link, stolen from Dooce, is kinda what happens in my head.
